Obama Event at Robinson High School

The Obama campaign is holding a Town Hall Meeting at Robinson High School in Fairfax Tomorrow at 1:15. Doors open at 11:30. The event is free but a ticket is required.

All the tickets have been scarfed up (They didn't last long!), but I have seen a few on Craig's List.

The Obama Headquarters just opened at 11184 Lee Hwy in Fairfax and that was one of the distribution points. It is always possible that more tickets will become available (though I kinda doubt it) so you may want to drop in and see them there.

While you are there you might want to volunteer a little of your time to help the campaign. I don't have a phone number for them yet. They literally just opened up and I don't think they even have a phone yet.

There are some very nice young people in the office and I'm sure they would appreciate all the help you can give them. We have a legitimate shot at carrying Virginia for a Democratic Presidential candidate for the first time in quite a while. So let's all do everything we can to make it happen!

Florida B.S.

This pretty much gives the lie to the b.s. about the Republicans in the Florida legislature "forcing" the early primary date on the Democrats. It would be a travesty for the DNC to seat a full delegation for Florida.

Bush's Despicable Remarks

The President's remarks in Israel were despicable. So much for foreign policy debate ending at the water's edge. This man has no shame.

Regardless of one's feelings about Bush's past policy or what we should do going forward, his blatantly playing partisan politics while overseas should disgust us all.

West Virginia

The West Virginia results are coming in and they are consistent with expectations.

The delegate split looks like it's going to be:

Clinton 19

Obama 9

So Clinton has a net gain of ten delegates tonight.

Since Obama has picked up 27 superdelegates this week, he is up 17 delegates since the North Carolina and Indiana primaries.

It is all over but the shouting.

Time to look ahead to November and defeating McCain and putting Obama in the White House.

Initial Post

This is my initial post on the first blog I have ever created. Heaven knows it is crowded in the blogosphere and I have no idea if I will post often or if a soul will read this stuff or comment here. I have a keen interest in politics and this has certainly been a fascinating year thus far. We'll see where this goes.
